UAV DACH at Perimeter Protection 2024: Drones as an opportunity and a challenge
Berlin, October 9, 2024 - Whether it's a shortage of skilled workers, self-protection or networked security concepts: Drones are the answer to many current questions in perimeter protection. This is why UAV DACH e.V. will be actively represented in the field of drone use and defense as a partner of Perimeter Protection in Nuremberg from 14 to 16 January 2025.
As the largest UAS trade association in Europe, the Association for Unmanned Aviation is committed to creating optimal framework conditions for the European drone economy. Its aim is to promote the safe, commercial and sustainable operation of unmanned aerial systems. As a strong community, the European association based in Germany organizes networking and information for all relevant stakeholders from business, politics and society.
This was also the case at Perimeter Protection. The following topics will be highlighted in a lecture program organized by UAV DACH at the international trade fair for perimeter protection, fencing technology and building security:
- Large-scale surveillance and border protection from the air: The increasing importance of drones in the surveillance of extensive areas and sensitive border areas.
- Fulfilling KRITIS requirements with drones: How unmanned aerial systems can be used to meet legal requirements for the protection of critical infrastructure.
- Efficiency and automation: Innovative drone technologies in response to the increasing shortage of skilled labor in the security sector.
- Counter-UAS at major events: Practical examples and best practices for countering uncooperative drones at major events and functions.
In their contributions, experts explain how unmanned aerial systems (UAS) can be used efficiently, legally compliant and without great effort for perimeter protection. They will also discuss how protective measures can be initiated effectively, promptly and efficiently as soon as a potential threat is detected.
Why you should definitely visit the U.T.SEC special area in 2025?
Read the interview with Thomas Mahler, Manager Sales of Perimeter Protection at NürnbergMesse, here.
Why is it essential to visit the U.T.SEC special area?
The U.T.SEC special area offers an ideal space for discussing security-related issues concerning unmanned technologies. The steadily increasing performance of the systems and the downward trend in prices make it increasingly attractive for companies, to add unmanned systems to their security concept.
On the other hand, the misuse of drones is also becoming increasingly common, which requires an adequate response on the part of companies and authorities.
The U.T.SEC special area at Perimeter Protection offers comprehensive opportunities to discuss the opportunities and risks of modern systems.
What innovations can visitors look forward to?
The exchange between system providers and users is the clear focus of the U.T.SEC special area.A video presentation area on the subject of drone detection and defence will provide visitors with an initial overview of the state of the art.
Discussions with suppliers of drones, detection and defence systems as well as exciting presentations in the specialist forum round off the offer.
What is your personal highlight?
I find the issues surrounding the CRITIS Umbrella Act, which is due to come into force at the beginning of 2025, particularly exciting.Operators of critical facilities will have to deal with additional issues in order to strengthen physical security and resilience.
Unmanned technologies and corresponding detection and defence systems can make an important contribution here.
