This presentation will explain how 3D LiDAR can be used as a privacy-friendly alternative to visual surveillance. Unlike video cameras, 3D LiDAR does not capture identifying features such as faces or clothing, but creates anonymised point clouds that are used to reliably monitor perimeter areas. This enables a high level of security while protecting privacy, making it easier to use in public areas and sensitive environments. The presentation will highlight the technological advantages of this solution, including its high precision, weather independence and acceptance by works councils, and show how 3D LiDAR can be implemented as a future-proof security solution.
